Converting PRO-BELT Graphics Data Page to a Rich Text File or PDF
The PRO-BELT graphics data page can be saved as a "Rich Text File" for viewing and printing with the Windows WordPad program and for attaching to email for others to use. The WordPad program can print the file to Adobe Acrobat to produce a file in pdf format. This procedure is done as follows:
From the PRO-BELT Main Menu go to Graphics to view the graphics data page. Press the slash key (/) to bring up the "Commands Menu" at the top of the screen.
Select Print.
Select File.
Type the desired file name with 8 or less characters. Do not type the period (.) nor the extension. The program will automatically assign a PRN extension.
Select Range.
Type GRAPHSALL.
Select Align. The screen will appear unchanged.
Select GO. The screen will appear unchanged, but the file has been saved in the PRO-BELT default directory.
Minimize (ALT-Enter) or Quit PRO-BELT.
Open the Windows WordPad program.
Open the file in the default PRO-BELT folder, such as: C:\Program Files\PRO-BELT 5 English.
The heavy bar underlines will show as garbage characters in the default WordPad font.
You must purchased and downloaded the Courier LD (Line Draw) font to see the heavy bars as shown on the example GRAPHICS.pdf. See the website page below to purchase and install the Courier LD font.
The standard Courier font can be used if the "trash characters" are replaced with dashes (--------------) or equal signs (========).
Converting the Graphics Data page to a Rich Text File or Document file with line draw characters. Change font in WordPad as follows:
Go to Edit - Select All.
Go to Font - Select Courier LD.
Go to Font size - Select 12 and click Bold.
Go to File - Page Setup. Change the left and right margins to 0.2".
Go to File - Save As. Save in the format desired.
Print as desired.
Comment: The WordPad file can be easily revised by anyone. If security of the data is a concern, print the file to the Adobe Acrobat virtual printer which converts it into a PDF file. The Adobe Acrobat software can be used to set security features, thereby, preventing recipients of the PDF from making any changes.
